The P.A.S.S. Method

In an emergency, every second counts. Remember these four steps:

P

Pull

Pull the pin. This will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.

A

Aim

Aim at the base of the fire. Hitting the tops of the flames won't put it out.

S

Squeeze

Squeeze the top handle or lever to release the extinguishing agent.

S

Sweep

Sweep from side to side until the fire is completely out.
